WESTINGHOUSE HIGH

ABOUT US

For decades, Westinghouse High School has served as the heart of the Homewood neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Each graduating class carries forward the Westinghouse legacy. Year after year, alumni have gone on to great accomplishments captured by the many plaques on the Wall of Fame. This is not the official website of the school but is a project to capture its history.

In order to preserve Bulldog history, the students of the Digital Local History course at Chatham University, including Julianna Brown, Anna D’Acierno, Nichole Greene, Lauren Life, and Michael Roussey, researched aspects of Westinghouse High School history and created a website.  We hope that you enjoy immersing yourself into the legacy of “The House”.

“The folks on the wall survived poverty, broken homes and troubles at school but they made it...If the kids know that these people on the wall lived in the same community, in the same houses that they do, it will make a difference."
